Seattle Food Bloggers Drove to Boise and Left Fans of Ansots’ Pork Belly Bocadillo

A Seattle-based food blog visited Ansots on the Basque Block and called it a standout among every restaurant they’ve tried across the Pacific Northwest.
BOISE, ID—A Seattle food blog known for working through the Pacific Northwest’s restaurant scene made the drive to Boise recently and walked away with a new entry at the top of their list. The duo landed at Ansots on the Basque Block downtown, ordered the Rustic Pork Belly Bocadillo for lunch, and described it as flavorful, simple, and elevated by genuinely excellent bread.
They finished with a slice of Basque Cheesecake, which did nothing to cool the enthusiasm. Boise’s Basque community is one of the largest outside the Basque Country itself—a region straddling the border of Spain and France—and the Basque Block has been its downtown anchor for decades.
It’s the kind of local detail that surprises visitors and that longtime residents sometimes forget to brag about. Ansots is located at 107 S.
6th Street in downtown Boise.
