Hawks Open at Home, Riverdance Takes the Morrison, and Goats Judge You at Expo Idaho

Hawks Open at Home, Riverdance Takes the Morrison, and Goats Judge You at Expo Idaho

A packed May 19–24 in the Treasure Valley includes Boise Hawks opening week, Riverdance at the Morrison Center, paddle boats at the Discovery Center, and a sanctioned goat show at Expo Idaho.

BOISE, ID—The week of May 19 may be the most eclectic stretch of the Treasure Valley calendar all year, and that is meant as a sincere compliment. The Boise Hawks open their season at Memorial Stadium with nightly games through May 24 (7:05 PM, Sunday at 1:05 PM), while the Morrison Center hosts Riverdance 30—The New Generation May 19–21 at 7:30 PM.

If you have ever wanted to explain Irish step dancing to a newcomer, this is your week. Boise Little Theater opens She Loves Me on May 22, running through the 24th.

Saturday, May 23 is doing a lot of heavy lifting: the Discovery Center of Idaho launches its paddle boat program (11 AM–5 PM), Athletic Club Boise takes on Fort Wayne at Expo Idaho at 7 PM, and Capital City Public Market fills The Grove Plaza from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Sunday wraps with the Syringa Goat Show at Expo Idaho, sanctioned by the American Dairy Goat Association—a detail that rewards the curious.

Live music rounds out the week with Grandaddy on Monday, The Scratch on Tuesday, a Bee Gees tribute Thursday, and Sepultura on Friday. The Third Thursday Street Festival runs 6–9 PM in downtown Nampa on the 21st, and the Caldwell Farm to Fork Farmers Market opens Tuesday evening at Indian Creek Plaza.

A full week, by any measure.
